At C1, We have a really great team of Sports Injury Therapists and Sports Massage therapists working at the clinic. (Have a look at our testimonials if you don’t believe us). We have Ben Tolson, Katie Breeze, Luke Norland and Elly Nashat (and we’ve added links to their own websites if you want to know more about them). They can help treat the majority of soft tissue problems, whether caused by training or are more work related problems, such as stiff necks and shoulders.  They are also an invaluable source of advice and guidance about training for, and taking part in, most sports.  All of them can give you body-saving recommendations that will help you handle whatever it is you are doing.

Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage

Sports  Massage and Deep Tissue Massage are therapies focused on managing deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue such as your tendons and ligaments. Deep Tissue Massage is very effective at reducing chronic muscle aches and pains.  It is also good for treating any tight areas such as necks and shoulders, low-back muscle aches and pains and leg muscle tightness.

Sports Massage also works for constantly tired, aching muscles, helping to relieve the build-up of stress affecting  your body. Our team of therapists are great at preparing you for the big sporting event – and putting you back together after it, be it the Bristol Moon Walk or something more challenging such as Iron Man competitions or Mountain Bike Enduros.

The benefits of Sports and Deep Tissue Massage include:

  • The relief of  stiff, aching muscles and tension
  • Increased flexibility for enhanced performance
  • Helps with injury prevention by identifying potential injury risks, and keeping muscles in optimum condition
  • Improves recovery time after training or competition
  • Effectively combats work and posture related pain and discomfort
  • Helps minimise tension and stress related headaches
  • Helps to improve posture and body awareness

Sports Injury Therapy

Sports Injury Therapy is an effective way to treat both acute and long term sporting injuries, as well as other soft tissue injuries that may be caused by work or daily life. It is not just for sporting individuals; anyone can benefit from this type of assessment and treatment. It  is great for understanding the nature and cause of injury and preventing re-occurrence.

Sports Injury Therapy is a part of the care we provide at C1 specifically concerned with the prevention of injury, and rehabilitation if injury has occurred. The goal is to get you back to optimum levels of function and sports specific fitness, irrespective of your age and sporting ability.

It consists of:

  • Biomechanical assessment
  • Functional assessment
  • Muscle testing
  • Posture analysis
  • Advanced massage techniques
  • Joint mobilisations
  • Taping
  • Rehabilitative exercise therapy

We currently work with elite and non-elite, sporting and non-sporting individuals and everyone in between. As a result, we see running, rowing, riding and martial arts injuries on a regular basis.

If you have a problem that is affecting your training or day to day life then please give us a call and let us work together to get you back to full health as quickly as possible.
